Ok, possible happy route for Mel: Go to College when she returns (Walden or MIT?) and meets Zipper, Toggle, etc. Follows BD’s advice and goes OCS. Becomes a champion of womens’ rights in the service.

Who was the mental midget who decided to put the rank insignia in the center of the chest on the BDUs? Now when a guy looks at Mel’s chest searching for her rank insignia so that he can properly address her, she might think he’s actually looking at her “chest.” OMG, what a potential nightmare for that soldier.

It looks like he is putting it on her collar not in the middle of her chest.

i had a work related disagreement with a female boss at one time. deciding she no longer valued my input on the issue, she said ” Jon, they pay me very well to be a bleeep, and i am good at my job.” i said yes, ma’am and shut up.
