I missed only Maine

Let’s see what he does with the New England states, Hawaii, and California.

Pastis’s Maine looks more like South Carolina to me than his South Carolina.

This was a great one. Once I saw Michigan, I knew what the game was, and quickly figured out all except South Carolina, which I then counted out by process of elimination. Well, I missed Nevada, Colorado & Wyoming, because I actually thought it was a podium and boxes. Everything after that was pretty easy. I had to look at Washington for a bit, though. The southern border of the state isn’t nearly as straight as he shows it.

I got the first 2; can’t figure out the others.

Maine gave me a bit of trouble, all the rest were not too hard.

Cartoon-Boy’s head, a bird’s head: I understand what you’re saying in the last panel, Pig. But, with Cartoon-Boy, it’s just a bird-brain, not a full head….

I live on the howling wolf’s nose.

Ummm… I don’t get it.

It starts with Nevada upside down!

“Maine” looks to me more like an upside-down North Carolina. I’ll accept Washington siince it is Stephan drawing it, after all.

I thought there were only three states that matter, Solid, liquid and gaseous.

I thought Washington was a slightly messed up Nebraska. I still think its too poorly drawn to be Washington, but no better suggestions either. The rest were pretty easy.

Sherlock Watson had it right all along. Amateurs.

I thought Maine was Oahu, and Washington was a slightly crumpled Utah, but otherwise I got them.

The State of Confusion is the only one that is relevant.

There’s only 46 states in the union… 4 of the are common wealth’s, Pa. one of them. name the rest. according to Obama there’s 57 states.

I’m guessing South Carolina, Michigan, Kentucky, west Virginia, Pennsylvania and Utah- but that’s only six, so something is hidden.

I think the first one is adaveN (“Is that the state where the casinos give the money to you?” “EVERY casino will be giving its money to you when you use our system…”)

I say he’s getting desperate for content…..

Aw, I didn’t get it till my home state of Pennsylvania (& West Virginia!)I did have trouble with Maine, because Maine shoulda been a cat’s head in profile, & it would not have needed to be tipped.

Cartoonists never get the Olympic Peninsula right, and since it’s always in the upper left corner of a cartoon map of the United States, my eyes are always drawn to it. And it’s no surprise that Florida is not included because it can only be one other thing and Pastis can’t draw that in a family newspaper.

I don’t see Maine. I also cannot figure out what the bottom half of the dog is in panel six. I got, in order:

I thought the lectern in panel 1 looked like Nevada, then disregarded it as I searched for the coming pun. Still not bad for a Canadian though!

Actually for me, there is an unseen 10th state, the state of confusion.
