And full service gas stations, ACTUAL FULL SERVICE! And with a fill up you got a nice Anchor Hocking Glass. That’s how I got the glasses for my Hope Chest. Hope Chest, there’s another thing that probably is unheard of these days!
tcayer there were bridal registries back then too, just not as common. Of course, there was no internet in the 70’s! I guess the hope chest is located in the computer now, online at places like Target, etc.! Pity, that’s one of the nicest wood pieces I own.

Or picking up the phone and TELLING the operator the number (only 4 digits, if “local”) you want to call!

My wedding gifts mostly cost under $50. Nowadays people expect more expensive gifts at a shower ;-P
