Being the butt of all the jokes is nothing to jest about.

We really need to get back to the days of Lucille Ball and Dick Van Dyke. They knew how to be funny.

From the snout on that king, it would seem he’s a bit of pig . . .

There are times when profanity is necessary in a joke. For example my brother-in-law was complaining about his adult daughters helping themselves to his condoms. “They stole me f’ing rubbers.” To which I replied, “That’s the first time I’ve ever heard that adjective used correctly.”

However too many comedians use it for the shock effect and after a while it becomes a distraction. Even the great George Carlin fell into this trap. With his great command of language, he didn’t have to resort to it. His jokes would have been funnier without it.

Agree with you about Brian Regan. Check out his “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” bit with Jerry Seinfeld. Regan was one of his first guests on that little web series. Hilarious. (Sorry, you’ll have to cut and past the whole url; I don’t know how to make the automatic link thingy work.)http://comediansincarsgettingcoffee.com/brian-regan-a-monkey-and-a-lava-lamp
