Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for December 03, 2015
Transcript:
Mom: Marigold says unicorns aren't horses. As a unicorn, she's more in charge of that than you are. And besides, she's your friend. That's what's important, even if you think you're right. Phoebe: I guess I should apologize to her. Mom: You sound reluctant. Phoebe: She'll just do her "dance of unicorn correctness" again. Mom: Record it. It might go viral.

Who are you calling an animal?

Marigold has cloven hooves, so she’s closer to a deer than a horse.

Unicorn Correctness may never replace Political Correctness but I’d like to see it try.

When a friend admits she’s wrong, the other friend shouldn’t gloat.

Mom’s right: record it, and keep it as blackmai—-er, I mean, evidence.

It occurred to me this is a subtle commentary on certain types of self-identification, too.
For instance, as a slice of pie, I feel I know more about my being a slice of pie than any of you can tell me how I’m not a slice of pie. SO THERE ;)
