“All the world’ll fly in a flurry When I take you out in the surrey, When I take you out in the surrey with the fringe on top! When we hit that road, hell fer leather, Cats and dogs’ll dance in the heather, Birds and frogs’ll sing all together and the toads will hop! The wind’ll whistle as we rattle along, The cows’ll moo in the clover, The river will ripple out a whispered song, And whisper it over and over: Don’t you wisht y’d go on forever? Don’t you wisht y’d go on forever? Don’t you wisht y’d go on forever and y’d never stop In that shiny, little surrey with the fringe on the top!”
TSOJ’s comments at the last strip make a lot of sense (to me, anyway). They also gave mean idea of how This Holly -who helped Wally adjust to his morph-can also be This Holly , who can’t seem to handle her own condition.I think that as long as Holly is helping someone else, she isn’t aware of her own burden. Without a distraction, Holly is left to think about how much she has lost; and that burden hasbeen gaining weight for years. When thought of it surfaces, it throws her off-balance.

Kirbee……the Derpy Hooves of the Endtown universe.I know where they are now…….. outside of Amarillo, Texas on I40.The last remaining Cadillac at the Cadillac Ranch.Mama Holly is not enjoying the ride…….
Seriously? We go from “THE LOOK” on Wednesday to an ambulatory bed and a grumpy Holly today? From the (apparently) impending “mother of all cliffhangers” to “Row, row, row your boat”? Is this Endtown or Star Trek V? ;-(
Better song but probably not in Kirbee’s repertoire “99 bottles of beer on the wall…….anyone????”Holly’s thoughts……“Are we there yet….”Wally’s thoughts……..“I’m a civil engineer…..I don’t do cars.”Irving’s thoughts………“Better to ride here than on the windshield.”Kirbee’s thoughts……..“You think Holly is going to ask for her apron back……also did I leave the iron on back in Unity?”Chic’s thoughts……“I have to pee again, can we stop??”Dittos thoughts…….“Left foot, right foot, middle foot, middle left foot, right foot just behind middle left foot……..”
Good point about Holly distracting herself with helping other folks. Helps keep one from dwelling on their own. That could be one explosive mouse lady soon, tho.
(P.S. Hit Jarlidium press. Now I’m broke—er..:) Stubat!
Ok, for all of you who have complained that my suggestion was ill considered and mean-spirited:Break Kirbee’s arm. Then, while she’s preoccupied, break Chic’s arm and see how Holly takes care of both of them.
I’m guessing that the walking bed was chosen because wheels require some form of bearing. Simple bearings would have a lot of friction which might be cruel to the dittos and roller bearings/ball bearings might be hard to imagine.

Holly is just sitting there, sulking. Seething in anger.

Clever use of Dittos.

Again, if you like Endtown, show the love. Jarlidium is now accepting pre-orders for volume 3. And, fortunately, the site is working now.

Still less creepy than Willy Wonka’s Psychedelic Paddle-wheel Boat.

Surprised Wally doesn’t have an unexplained black-eye in this one.

No one’s mentioning that, apparently, the BED is leaving FOOTPRINTS?

Wally’s read Little Nemo, apparently.

Be thankful that Kirbee didn’t go with “99 Bottles of beer on the wall…” No need to make anyone else feel thirsty.

Clever, the dittos walking that way leave tracks that look like the Topsider robots.

Wally might be thinking the Nemobile would be scarier than a car to whoever’s at the tower.

Y’know, singing “Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream” while you’re dying of thirst might not be that good an idea…

I wonder if this is the scene where Aaron had planned for Wally and Holly to be in the Krupp dunerunner, and he changed his mind.
