My wife and I had the ideal arrangement – we were shrinking at the same rate, so we still fit together perfectly.

For some of us, we shrink in some areas, where don’t want to, but grow in those areas that need shrinking….

One of the things that I learned, in moving to another country, and going from a fairly large house to a two bedroom apartment, is the ability to downsize and get rid of a lot of accumulated “stuff” ! I honestly don’t miss anything I sold, gave away, or trashed.

Mike is correct. All my adult life, I was 6’ 1". During my physical last year, the nurse said 6 feet. “WHOA!” I said, that scale must be wrong! No siree. She turned me around, and, in my stocking feet, I stared at the height measurement: Six feet, zero inches!How am I going to explain this to the next police officer who pulls me over and checks my license?

One other she missed on the lonesomeness of no one around. I have mom 90 with Dementia same way.

There is some that shrinks with age, but also, there are things that grow, which we often forget. Knowledge, wisdom, experience… not all older people grow in these things, but then, not all children or young adults grow in positive ways, either.

I hate that we devalue age entirely.

not in Ca. Prop 13 locked property tax rates, so there are many old ladies in a big 4 bedroom house paying taxes based of 1977 prices. Believe me, there is a big difference between taxes on a 40K house and on a 600k house, and they are in the same tract, maybe next door.
