I pind for the original Billy “White Shoes” Johnson shake. I miss the Ickey shuffle. Ah, the good old days of football.

I’m all for the guys that act like scoring a touchdown is what they do for a living and not an audition for Dancing with the Stars.

If those guys only knew how stupid they look doing that.

Back in the days when the Washington Redskins won Super Bowls, people noted that John Riggins’ “dance” after making a touchdown was to hand the ball to the referee.

Totally agree with Plods. The dances are, to me, just silly. More Pee Wee football than NFL. But now, even the Defense has gotten into the act, doing a beat the chest and scream when they make a QB sack

When did they add that to the rule book?

Could you imagine a ref saying that with a straight face?

It’s even more annoying when players do a touchdown or a sack dance late in the game when their team is behind by four or five touchdowns!

Ironic, considering they nailed Antonio Brown of the Steelers for excessive celebration when he humped the goal post after returning a punt for a TD Sunday night.

I think the gist of the strip is the whole “what is a catch problem” long enough to make a play, down on 1 knee, elbow, pushed o/b, break the plane of the goaline etc.

End zone dances? Business as usual in the Arena Football League, where every TD is followed by a routine you’d expect from the chorus line at Minsky’s.

And I stand by my numbers on ref pay given yesterday (they’re in the comments thread with an update and source). A lot has changed since 2009.
