Why do I have a sinking feeling he’s taking it to Cap’n Eddie …

Baseball is not just a game!!!
This is something on which both Red Sox and Yankee fans agree – about the only thing.

Confounded contentment breaking out! Have to put a stop to that. Can’t have the people going all soft on us. Fear and rancor fuel the economy. Preserve negativity at all costs!!!

My first guess would be the President’s Wife.

Um, perhaps this is a stupid question, but if it was important that the ekert should not escape, why was he left in a shed with just a chunk of wood holding the door shut? And, Wiley, a question for you- was your “ekert” here by any chance named after the author Eckhart Tolle? (If you care to admit….)

Call Dick Cheney! He’ll make everybody miserable.

Everyone’s agreed. It’s Cap’n Eddie!
C.A. Brobst, –They couldn’t find Dick Cheney in his undisclosed location, though his daughter offered her services.
Matt1075, I was thinking Meister Eckhart.

I love this comic! great work Wiley

@Matt1075: I was wondering the same thing. Has NSA’s budget gotten so lean that it can’t afford a decent concrete bunker with a combination lock?
Commentator over 14 years ago
Funny how Cheney has come to symbolize evil in this country. He’s earned it.

“Baseball is just a game” At least you didn’t say Football or Hockey is just a game if you did you’d have some mighty Pi–ed Off Pittsburgh STEELER & PENGUIN fans. ~~~~~~~~~~~ HIGHER than The President? Somebodys been watching that old “Reno Williams” movie.
genghis.shaman over 14 years ago
Wait a minute. You’re expecting us to believe that something so dangerous that you have to go higher than the president if it escapes was kept in a shed in the woods with a block of wood against the door? Really? This is so stu - I mean, that’s ingenious and I love Non Sequitur. Seriously, though, if our national security were like that, we’d all be dead.
JanLC over 14 years ago
DOC, that’s Remo Williams as in The Destroyer series of books and the movie starring Fred Ward and Joel Gray.

Look guys, you can go as high as you want to, but my wife still charges for that kind of advice. Besides, she’s booked, unless——well money talks and you know what walks.

WHO ELSE BUT LUCY…THE PSYCH FROM CHARLEY BROWN.
HowieL over 14 years ago
Don’t you understand? They could have kept the eckert in a concrete-and-steel bunker surrounded by razor wire and watch towers with searchlights and snarling dogs scary-looking antennae, but then the only thing missing would have been the neon sign with the big arrow saying “SOMETHING IMPORTANT IS HIDDEN HERE”. Noooo, the best way to hide the eckert was determined to be a little shed in the middle of nowhere, safe and sound. Remember, this was a decision made at the highest government levels, so it made sense to them. Of course, NO ONE expects Danae! (Note; the administration in power at the time the decision was made is totally, and equally, irrelevant!)

Sox fans aren’t quite the same since 2004, anyway.
What this situation needs is whatshername, you know… the wife of ObviousMan! She has that unique balance of self-absorbed altruism that will make her impervious to the power of the Ekert.

Wonderfully confounding Wiley.

nighthawks I got bleeped, which makes the word I used look much worse than it actually was…… We used to do it to wool socks! Not keep water behind it or tinkers using it.

Why do they (the men in N.S.A.) need a help? Ask for Capt’n Eddie? I think Capt’n Eddie knew about Ekert, the elephant-fairy. Ekert already ecaped. Good grief! ;-/
Potrzebie over 14 years ago
Hmm, perhaps the shack exists locked away from Danae’s Reality and strangely it appeared. I think this storyline is going to require the Justice Society of Non-sequitur! the whole supporting cast!

Ah, thank you, HowieL. I was hoping someone would figure it out and explain it to the others. It’s better when it comes from one of the readers than from me.
And RichardSRussell … you answered your own question. Think about it.

NO ONE expects Danae! Why do I think of 3 silly Brits chiming in with their renditioning of “NO ONE EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!” …? Just imagine our goth princess working in the depths of the Prado! As for the “Higher Power” - Sheesh it has got to be Victoria!

They’re going to take this higher!
They’re going to take the Teletubbies out of retirement.

One thing about keeping Ekert in a high security facility is that he’d feed like crazy on all the hostile thoughts of the other inmates. And he’d get big enough to break out on his own. Not that Howie and Wiley didn’t cover the other aspects very well already.

Baseball is not just a game!!!
This is something on which both Red Sox and Yankee fans agree – about the only thing.
Now, Cubby fans know baseball is just a game–it’s something the Cubs do out there on the grass while the fans chat and get some sun and eat hot dogs with suds.

Oh my, can’t you just imagine the peace and joy that will remain if the Ekert isn’t stopped?!!!
DarthSequitur over 14 years ago
I vote for Cap’n Eddie. Just one of his long, inventive, hilarious, but never mean-spirited adventures would surely lull even The Ekert into a sense of joy and contentment - allowing for it’s reconfinement.

Joe who?
JP Steve Premium Member over 14 years ago
I was startying to suspect Joe [Otra Vez] has been banned again, even thought the consensus was he had every right to post here. Does this mean the trolls are running this site? There was a good friendly feeling about GoComics, are we going to let the bullies ruin that?
thirdguy over 14 years ago
Thanks Wiley!!!
Ushindi over 14 years ago
JP Steve: We don’t “let” anyone “run the site”. GoComics runs Go Comics, not us. As they occasionally tell people who complain, “if you don’t like it, go somewhere else”. You might also explain exactly what you mean by a “consensus” agreeing to certain rights. I don’t recall my opinion being asked on any poll about rights nor have I heard anyone else mention this “agreement”. I suggest you contact GoComics and explain your disagreement with the abrogation of “our rights”. I’m certain they will explain it very clearly to you.
Simply put, our commenting privileges are solely at the discretion of GoComics, and may be revoked at any time. Your friend, Joe, is not the first and I doubt he’ll be the last.

I have a suggestion: when we espy the next incarnation of our friend from Tulsa, let’s not identify him, OK? Let’s just enjoy his comments for what they are.
I’m as guilty as the next person, of course. I just never thought it’d lead to his comments being purged.
