Um, perhaps this is a stupid question, but if it was important that the ekert should not escape, why was he left in a shed with just a chunk of wood holding the door shut? And, Wiley, a question for you- was your “ekert” here by any chance named after the author Eckhart Tolle? (If you care to admit….)

Wait a minute. You’re expecting us to believe that something so dangerous that you have to go higher than the president if it escapes was kept in a shed in the woods with a block of wood against the door? Really? This is so stu - I mean, that’s ingenious and I love Non Sequitur. Seriously, though, if our national security were like that, we’d all be dead.

Don’t you understand? They could have kept the eckert in a concrete-and-steel bunker surrounded by razor wire and watch towers with searchlights and snarling dogs scary-looking antennae, but then the only thing missing would have been the neon sign with the big arrow saying “SOMETHING IMPORTANT IS HIDDEN HERE”. Noooo, the best way to hide the eckert was determined to be a little shed in the middle of nowhere, safe and sound. Remember, this was a decision made at the highest government levels, so it made sense to them. Of course, NO ONE expects Danae! (Note; the administration in power at the time the decision was made is totally, and equally, irrelevant!)

Sox fans aren’t quite the same since 2004, anyway.

What this situation needs is whatshername, you know… the wife of ObviousMan! She has that unique balance of self-absorbed altruism that will make her impervious to the power of the Ekert.

One thing about keeping Ekert in a high security facility is that he’d feed like crazy on all the hostile thoughts of the other inmates. And he’d get big enough to break out on his own. Not that Howie and Wiley didn’t cover the other aspects very well already.

I was startying to suspect Joe [Otra Vez] has been banned again, even thought the consensus was he had every right to post here. Does this mean the trolls are running this site? There was a good friendly feeling about GoComics, are we going to let the bullies ruin that?

JP Steve: We don’t “let” anyone “run the site”. GoComics runs Go Comics, not us. As they occasionally tell people who complain, “if you don’t like it, go somewhere else”. You might also explain exactly what you mean by a “consensus” agreeing to certain rights. I don’t recall my opinion being asked on any poll about rights nor have I heard anyone else mention this “agreement”. I suggest you contact GoComics and explain your disagreement with the abrogation of “our rights”. I’m certain they will explain it very clearly to you.

Simply put, our commenting privileges are solely at the discretion of GoComics, and may be revoked at any time. Your friend, Joe, is not the first and I doubt he’ll be the last.
