Puck: We're 4 hours into "Elvis watch." Here's Lupin with the latest. Lupin: Puck, I've scaled the Vegas Fir for a better view. Lupin: Just gotta toss some junk out of the way -- Lupin: The Woman is leaving food out for Elvis. Puck: He always did like food. Tommy: Here we are! Home sweet home! Elvis: You live in a shed? Tommy: For now. Until someone finds me, then it's onto the next place! Tommy: Anyway, it's a green -- house! Roasty toasty! Elvis: Don't you have any people? Tommy: I did, once, but you've seen how that goes.... Tommy: I got outside, got spooked by a passing People mobile, started running... Before long, I was lost. Tommy: So, I stick to this block now. But I try to make it cozy. Elvis: Don't you miss your people? Tommy: Oh, sure! Tommy: I miss the little things the most. Sleeping at the end of a bed, having my ears scratched, hearing I'm a good boy.... Tommy: Would you like some leftover non-poisonous plants from breakfast? There's not much, but it always feels like more when you share! Elvis: Oh, no, I couldn't -- Tommy: Let's get some shut eye, then! You take the box. Elvis: But -- Tommy: Is the box not small enough? Elvis: Oh, no, it's impossibly tiny -- thank you -- I just don't want to take your bed. Tommy: No worries, brother! I sleep on this old overcoat! My Woman had one just like it! Elvis: Oh! Okay.... Tommy: Don't you worry. You're closer to home than you think. Tomorrow morning as soon as the snow lets up, we'll set out for your house! KNEAD KNEAD KNEAD Elvis: I wonder what Puck and Lupin are doing. Elvis: Probably all curled up fast asleep by now. Man: Why are they so wired tonight?! Woman: They probably miss Elvis.

They’re on… what? Their third pot of coffee by now? Glad I’m not scooping THEIR litterbox! =)

He always did like food is such Pucky comment. Tommy is a very resourceful cat and is better att surviving than his cherry demeanor would suggest.

Read it before, remember it perfectly, and it’s still breaking my heart!

Georgia, please, please tell the powers that be to put out a BOOK of your work. I would have bought two this Christmas season. One for moi, and one for my niece and her toddler and their – wait for it – three cats! These would be so perfect to read to kids, but only in a book so they can get to the happy endings!

This is why we love Tommy. And Elvis. And Lupin. And Georgia.
Speaking of wish lists - is there a BCN Calendar in the works? Thanks again.

There are so many details in this…Tommy’s toes as he’s stretching; the “oh, no. It’s impossibly small, thank you” from Elvis; poor Elvis’ achingly lonesome whisper, echoing how many homesick of all species…and on and on. So beautifully done, Georgia!

Well, that’s it. I’ve been debating trying to fit in one more kitty before the holidays and, reading this decides it. One more will make four, a nice even number.

This is my 3rd reading of this (binge read it last spring from the website when I was having a really bad day – nothing like Breaking Cat News to make a bad day into a good day), then again when Go Comics ran it out of season, and now. I’ve reread each installment numerous times. And I just now noticed that when Tommy is sleeping on the overcoat like his woman had, he has the sleeve half wrapped around him, like his woman’s arm was in the coat, snuggling him. How sweet.
