Fishing in thr Gulf of Mexico we would get a line fouled by a floating weed. We called them “dingleberry bushes”. They were Sargassum weeds and had little berry things on them.

Wow, maybe before publishing, the writers should look up words on urbandictionary.com. ’Cause what I know to be dingleberries make this comic in very bad taste and not even that funny.

Lowlife humor. Sorry to see it in B.C.

Agree with Beth, Bobarian, and Abby Normal (nice touch, by the way) but notice that even worse followed. No accounting for crass. :(

I’m a bit surprised so many know what “dingleberries” are. And, yes, it is not what we would expect from this strip.

Yes it is bad taste for BC. I would expect it on other comics but not this one.

You can use Dingelberries in your special recipe of S.O.S.

I suspect this is one of those panels that wrote itself; authors trying to write a joke about no-shave November, found themselves without a punchline at the deadline. What works in Vegas does not necessarily play well in a family strip.

It is said you can’t learn anything by reading the comics!

I was originally thinking something totally different…

Oh everyone just lighten up. Dogs with lots of fur….hello to naturally occurring phenomena. Any family with a long haired dog is well aware of these.

They just let anything pass in comics these days. Where are the media censor police. Pears Before Swine has one.

Unfortunately, because of this comic, I had to bump BC to a PG rating on my comics page.

In the past comics were simple wholesome humor. More and more they are devolving into the same disgusting toilet humor that television has become. This may be the last BC comic I ever read!

I, for one, interpreted this crudely. Could it be I was wrong? Still, it’s been some time since Wolfie has graced this strip and it is always great to see him.

IMO “Dingleberries” refers to hanging-clumps of any material attached to fur/hair. In the winter, this can be snow or ice.

I had no idea what “dingleberries” referred to, and had something completely different in mind. However, after I looked it up, and became better educated, I found the strip funny!

A little crude perhaps, but funny nonetheless…

I have to agree. They should have asked anyone over five what that word actually meant. Very bad taste.

The comments here illustrate the cultural divide that’s destroying civilization right now. Pervasive propriety and ubiquitous imperturbability held in a spirit of communal concern for one’s neighbors are both necessary qualities to maintain a civilized culture.
