There are cootie exceptions. You cannot get cooties from your sisters or cousins: because of the genetic inheritance, you are born with an acquired immunity.
Likewise, there is an age limit. Girls less than two years younger than you or more than two years older than you, cannot transmit cooties.
In the other hand, girls in your own class are exceptionally infectious.
Give it a couple of years, Jason. You might find out that you like getting Girl Cooties.

perhaps instead of cooties its that he doesnt want help from a girl. how embarrassing!! ;)
