It’s interesting seeing what goes on in the places that produce the various things we buy and use. I haven’t been so impressed with anything that I’ve kissed the floor, but it’s an education all the same. Without going into details I can tell you that a person would starve to death if he / she ever saw what went on at any of the places that produce or store the food we eat. You wouldn’t want to eat anything from anywhere. But anywhoo…..
I toured 3 rum factories in San Juan before I discovered they had a beach. Passed out and got sunburned. Flo, how did you get Andy out of the brewery? Wheelbarrow or stretcher?
Flo has been known to enjoy a beer or two herself so my guess would be she had a good time as well… She might not have kissed the floor by choice but maybe she did after she tossed back a few?
I’ve been to several meat packing plants in my job, truck driver. The cured meats are done quickly with powerful chemicals. Thank God I have an inhaler. Chicken plants are just gross. All have a pervasive odor that will make you sick to your stomach if unprepared. Yet, I still eat meat. Must be that Vietnam experience that has me somewhat in its grip.
Andy’s visit to the brewery is much like a pilgrimage to Mecca. Luckily his devotion was captured on film as a memory that can be cherished for years to come.
Originally all food manufacturing plants had procedures in place so that they were kept sterile… hence kissing the floor would not have been such a disgusting thought….
Clark, I used to be in charge of updating the maintenance manual for packet switching systems used by the phone company, but in all that time, I never actually saw one.

Milwaukee’s brewery tours used to be free, and at the end, there were beer gardens where it was all you could drink for free. Alas, no more.

That was the best vacation Andy ever had and Flo’s worst nightmare. A more drunken Andy.

Kissing the floor is not at all unusual.

I’v heard it said that Europeans claim that Budweiser is proof that Americans know nothing about beer?
