It’s sad but I have actually seen people doing this. A car ran off the road and hit a tree and some people went and got their lawn chairs and beer and was watching like it was a movie or something
My community doesn’t go as far as chairs but we have stood alongside the fence separating our condo buildings from the main drag. There are accidents on that road almost daily but some are way worse than others. No deaths but lots of shaken up people. The cops are usually there within a minute or two since it’s such a busy road so cops are always patrolling. Every time I drive that road it’s a miracle I’m not a victim of texting-and-driving from those behind me. I know it’s only a matter of time before I too get rear-ended and can wave at my neighbors coming out of the building to see what all the tire-screeching and metal bending is all about.
