Teresa - really enjoy everything on the Frog Blog, but nothing more than the classic (Audrey Hepburn) and unconventional (Harpo Marx) pictures of actors and actresses from the past. Even more than Fishnet Friday – a reflection of my doddering old age, I suppose. Does anyone else miss the class act that used to be Hollywood? Even if it was a fairy tale,, it was an enchanting fairy tale to be sure.
Those ads are ideals, my man. They were the beginning of using sex to sell everything from shampoo to floor wax. Naturally the people depicted in the ad would be orgasmic over whatever product is being touted.

How much *is* a funeral? And when did funeral costs turn into “final expenses” any way?

Funeral? What funeral? I thought the Indelicata was just talking about the night’s final fun tally!

They’re not the fees you need to pay to ensure that you pass those last tests before graduation?

I cannot, and SHALL not, ever go along with “Even more than Fishnet Friday”.
You’ll have to pry FF from my cold dead hands…

I think “Impregnated Safety Match” is a good candidate for a “Hear Teresa’s Voice.”

ok = were folks that scared of floor scuffs at a hop?
also, did folks really ever look as goofy as they do in 50’s and 60’s ads - orgasmic over soda pop or hot dogs?

To answer your original question - the “hoppers” probably did not care so much about floor scuffs, but the athletic department certainly did!

rabbitrose: Seriously, that’s why we called them “Sock Hops” - took off our shoes and danced in our socks in the gym.
Seemed reasonable at the time…
