years ago before the advent of the myriad of cell towers, when they were far and few between, I knew a guy in a small town rural area that needed to be on call 24/7 for his work, and he always carried around this good sized box (like the size of two shoe boxes) which was his portable phone. It had to have a large battery to be strong enough to send and receive signals. Ah… the good ol’ days!
