That will tend to limit Jarvis’ participation in Sedgie’s next prank.

Alas, poor Jarvis! I knew him well.Sedgie will be completely at a loss without the services of his faithful Gentleman’s Gentleman. Why, he’ll have to go out and hire a new one!

THEN. STOP. READING. ABOUT. SEDGWICK. and for heaven’s sake let the rest of us enjoy the strip without feces references aimed at an (albeit fictional) CHILD, TYVM.

I often see people perplexed by other people posting negative comments about comic strip characters, and often suggest a person who does so has a problem that can be solved by not reading the strip.

That’s not how fiction works. First of all, fiction isn’t that different from real life. If you read in the news about some spoiled child in another city and happened to say you don’t like that child, would people tell you, “then don’t read the news”? That child isn’t any more real to you than one in a fictional story.

I think it is legitimate for someone to like reading Monty and not like Sedgewick, and for someone to voice that opinion in the comments. If you don’t like reading criticisms of fictional characters, don’t read the comments. :-)

For some reason, I’ve always liked the word extremities.

And if you all want to see some regular comic bashing, you should head over to Alley Oophere on GoComics.

(The comments there haven’t been as negative recently, but go back a few weeks/months and you’ll see what I mean.)
