Goat: What are you reading, Rat? Rat: This story on a law that the state of Missouri may or may not pass. Goat; What's holding them up? Rat; They only want to pass it if other states join them in passing similar laws at the same time. Goat; Missouri loves company. Rat: No one wants your company.

I like it better than “The Show Me State.” It would look good on their license plates….Of course if this was really true they would have done what it takes to keep the Rams in St. Louis.

Sorry, Rat; not only do people want Stephan’s company, they are willing to pay for it [see link at right]. You, on the other hand, could probably make a good living by having people pay for you to stay away.

If Texas saw what Arkansas, then what did Tennessee?

Sorry, Steph, you didn’t create an actual pun. “Missouri Loves Company” was a real tourism ad campaign a few years ago.

Did anyone notice that one of the stones in the wall is somewhat Missouri-shaped?

Believe it or not, today’s strip is translated word for word in Spanish. “Miseria” is a word in Spanish (poverty or squalor) so the phonetics work. I don’t know how intelligible the idiom is, though.

Good one! Didn’t see that one coming. But will someone now want to put you out of Missouri?
Number Three almost 9 years ago
And who in their right mind would want your company either, Rat?

As someone who lives in and was born and raised in Missouri I should tell you, whatever the legislature is considering is probably a terrible idea. Seriously without going really deep into the south like Texas, Mississippi, and Louisiana you could not find a more idiotic, backwards, and inbred wastes of human potential. The Missouri Legislature is a disgrace to civilized people and nations everywhere.

I’m from Missouri, we can only get better if the Rams leave and St. Louis sinks into the Mississippi River.

How is it possible that I have been going to random strips and after 15 strips saw this one for the second time?
