When I was a teen, I was a great Lovecraft fan. I revisited his works later in life and was amazed at the nuances I’d missed in his writing style.I reread all his works again a couple of years ago, and still found him thoroughly entrancing. A very under-appreciated American writer !

A poem by Lovecraft.
The cottage hearth beams warm and bright, The candles gaily glow; The stars emit a kinder light Above the drifted snow.
Down from the sky a magic steals To glad the passing year,And belfries sing with joyous peals, For Christmastide is here!
