I don’t think you would really want any bird that had that bad a sense of taste anyway.
They had somewhere to go and didn’t want to Dali.
I made 3 cork birdhouses for Christmas presents, 500+ corks.
Put some pot in the feeder and the birds will figure it out themselves…Party on dudes……………….Salvador Dali designed???
Birds don’t like the smell of paint or varnish, so maybe it’s because you put a coat of polyurethane on it!
Or maybe, as has already been inferred, the neighborhood birds just have better taste…
