Ohh. Could this mean redemption for Steve Dallas? What is it about Sam, in particular, that moves him from sleazy lawyerhood to humanity? It’s about Christmas (in strip time).—And even here, in the Real World, today is the Seventh Day of Christmas (7 Swans a-Swimming)….
When I was still working as a hospital floor nurse, one Christmas we had the most grumpy old lady that everyone disliked, so, of course, I loved her. Her family was over 2 hours away so she never had any visitors. After my shift one morning I went to the store, bought Christmas decorations and came back to the hospital. I decorated every corner of her room. I asked the one nurse that “caught” me to swear she’d never tell and she didn’t. All my dear lady wanted was to “go home for Christmas.” She was discharged on the 23rd. She had given me her home phone number so I called her Christmas day. I spoke with her son briefly. She passed the night before. She did indeed go home for Christmas. Her son said the whole time she was home she talked about the decorations in her room and how happy it made her. After that I made a point to decorate anyone’s room that was barren at Christmas. It was worth every moment.
some artists put their comics on a week late distribution to certain places to draw traffic to their preferred sources. The creators of Buckles do the same thing.
…and so Sith Lord Sexypants returned to the Linoleum planet “Lysol”. There he found the young Jedi Sam resting after yet another grueling battle with the white blood cell drones. As Lord Sexypants observed the sleeping boy, a part of him could not help but wonder where this little warrior found the strength to keep on going, battling the drones day after day whilst the signs of exhaustion was clearly visible in his sleeping form. It made him think of his own personal demons, and how minuscule they truly were.Sexypants knew he did not have the power to eradicate the drones from the little Jedi’s exhausted body, but perhaps giving him a little something to show his appreciation for letting him take part in his battle just might provide a little bit of hope (if not strength), so he may continue his battle. And who knows? Perhaps one day Lord Sexypants will do battle with Jedi Sam again…somewhere in the Elm Street system.
