girl says, "What'd you get for Christmas?" Twig says, "A sweater, socks, toothpaste, and?" Twig says, "Something I have no clue how to use." girl says, "What is it?" Twig says, "A box of 'thank you notes'" girl says, "Cool! Antiques!"
Thank you? Most do not know what that phrase means. I threatened to give a family member a postcard that gave a choise of check offs – Liked, Hated, What is it, Yard Sale, etc.
One of the things I teach in high school relies on modern technology for the projects. It also encourages getting the community involved or at least people outside the school system. One of the things that impressed me in the training this summer was the emphasis on hand written thank you notes. It was nice to see that was still considered important. When we talk “people skills” this semester, I think I will use this cartoon in the lesson if you don’t mind.

IMHO, when parents complain about such things, they are actually telling off on themselves. nuff said.
