Agatha says, "The park is packed every weekend." Maggie says, "Isn't it great? It's because of all the walks." Maggie says, "We've got the AIDS walk. Cancer walks. The parkinson's walk. The M.S. walk." Agatha says, "And don't forget the, umm?" Agatha says, "..Umm.." Maggie says, "Alzheimer's walk?" Agatha says, "Right! Remind me to register for that one."

Alzheimer’s takes the person away even as their body still lives. It is horrible in that way.

The worst of Alzheimer’s was when my mother-in-law knew there was something wrong. As she progressed, and didn’t know it, she relaxed, enjoyed herself, told us family stories we had never heard that filled in family history. It was a good two years.
