I’ve heard that stringing fishing line around the garden a few feet off the ground will keep the deer out. They can’t see monofilament, so they can’t jump it, and running into it scares them.
I had raccoons climbing my peach trees to eat. I put a can with some ammonia and a rag wick at the base of the tree. Apparently, it smells like predator pee, and they run away.
