Anything other than a beer and a shot is hoity toity and snooty to Rat.

I worked with a guy like that. Instead of saying he was hungry, he would say that he was famished!

Rat seems upset….offer him a “hot beverage”. I’ll have a Red Bull and a Jaeger bomb!

I think he meant “May I procure a potable for you?”

I do enjoy seeing Rat apoplectic. Maybe he’ll have a stroke, and his head will explode, Sherlock Watson….

“drink” is ambiguous – it may refer to any beverage, but lots of people would interpret it as alcoholic.

I think I would act like Goat to some people, particularly my family, to annoy them. It seems my sort of style.

Come now, Rat. Just how many people throw a cocktail party anymore unless their either sophisticated or trying to act sophisticated. He already got you twice when he welcomed you to his cocktail party and then offered you a beverage.

In this part of the world it’s illegal to advertise that alcohol is to be served at a private function. Means a lot of beating-around-the-bush on posters for office parties etc. — Goat’s euphemisms get a lot of work!

Nothing that calls for a tie can be fun.
