My mom says humans only live to be about eighty years on average. Yeah right. If humans only live that long, how does anyone ever write a good book, or understand history. Or see the world, or experienced true self-knowledge. Think of all the stuff Leonardo did! You think all of that was done in under 80 years? Ha! So how long do people live? Given how confident old people are about politics? 100,000 years, minimum. My grandpa knows the exact year when the country started to go downhill. What a scholar!

Political scholars can always point to a specific year and to specific persons responsible for the current state of decline.Their efforts to reverse the harm and rebuild will be elected by future scholars to represent the exact moment when things started going downhill.

I absolutely love my grandfather, and have great respect for him and other “old” people, but “given how confident old people are about politics” is so true.
