I could use Peekaboo’s help with my computer…

Poor Rose. That’s why they invented Auto-Save.

And back the files up to an external hard drive, too.

As a digital illustrator, I hit CTRL+S VERY often. Sometimes the art software I use crashes… so its a lifesaver to save. You hear that, Rose??

Auto-save does me no good. I don’t own an auto.

Save, Save, Save. I save every sentence. Learned the hard way. But, if you delete by mistake, don’t get upset, made, pull a tantrum, just go right back to it, and it will surprise you have easy it is to recreate. The secret is not to think about it but let your fingers and subconscious take over. It works – most of the time.

Remember the days of floppy disks. Always made 2 backups. There was nothing worse than the can opener sound that indicated the disk had gone bad.

The fact that the Gumbos still have a CRT monitor says more than anything…

At one job I had, I was an administrative assistant for a Corporate Finance office, with a branch in Boston (I was in NH). One day the Boston guy called me and asked, “Karen, if the computer crashes, is there a way to print what I typed?” As this was around 1990, the answer was “No”. I added, "It will only save up to the last time you hit “Save”; anything after that will be gone." It turned out that he had typed a 10-page document…and never once hit “Save”!

At least Peakaboo’s not harassing the mouse.

Been a computer consultant for 35 years. I remember when I told a telephone support client to make a copy of her floppy and she went and put it on the xerox machine.

This is funny, but how old is it? Judging from the monitor, 10-15 years old? Come on, Don and Pat, do we deserve re treads? Where’s the fresh, juicy, contemporary, 2016 stuff? Or does Rose just like to use 10 year old monitors?
