He doesn’t HATE him…He just doesn’t LIKE him. There is a difference.

(My old man left my mom and 4 sons almost 50 years ago when I was 8, so I know the feeling firsthand.)

Having the man home too sometimes doesn’t help… When all he does is being!

My mom left my bio-dad because he was a drunk. Best thing that could have happened for me. She met and married my stepfather who worked his @$$ off to feed, clothe, shelter and educate me. Just because some people ARE together for a while doesn’t mean they should STAY together.

Hubby’s ex walked off and left him to raise his daughter by himself. When Youngest Daughter got married she didn’t invite the ex; we’re not even sure how she found out about it. Phone call – “Why didn’t you invite me to your wedding?”“Why should I?”“I’m your mother!”“No, you’re not. The woman who raised me is my mother.”

He doesn’t hate him, he just has no relationship with him.

It’s really hard to blame your life of crime on dad not being there. I can sort of understand abuse victims turning to drugs (to numb their pain) and crime to fund those drugs. But I can’t see how not having a parent you never knew could fuel that. I’ve met a lot of well-adjusted, productive, upstanding citizens who grew up with only one parent. If they can do it, why couldn’t he?

On the other hand, I’ve also known kids who were in and out of juvie then in and out of jail as adults who grew up with both parents. So where does the blame fall?

" otherwise this arc will have a sad real life ending.".Good to let folks know the dangers and costs of some actions. If we pretend they don’t exist , we encourage them.
