We haven’t exactly worked out the etiquette of device use in groups quite yet….I notice that in any group, say, ten people, even family and friends, three of them will be checking their mail, Facebook or tweeting, or even just playing a game…. Sometimes it’s kind of rude…
A friend of mine, because his son was in the army, hadn’t seen him and his wife, and grandchild for a couple of years..He was looking forward to doing all kinds of things with the whole family together…..When he tried to round them up to do something, they were all in a different room, texting, playing games, Googling or Facebooking….He could barely get them out of the house for a barbeque on a warm summer’s evening…….. they brought their phones….
Our hospital’s CEO is constantly saying not to use cellphones in the halls, even if you’re off shift. Patients and guests complain that if they need help, everyone is on the phone.

Instead of “Don’t text and drive” the message should be “Don’t text and try to perform any motion related activities”.

If you come face-to-face with Cliff, you never want to contact that human again.

And that’s okay for some people. Stop being so judgey and assuming that what your preferences should be imposed on everyone else.
