The school system adopted the ‘Open Court’ method of teaching the year my youngest started school. The Open Court method teaches Agnes’ way of spelling. By the time I realized what the school was doing it was too late for me to correct the damage (she refused to make the effort). As an adult, she has worked very hard to correct the damage but it is still a struggle sometimes.
