Maybe Trudeau could use Photoshop to insert fart jokes and banana peels for the delectation of those impervious to character-based humor.

I wonder if someone yesterday intended the use of the name Donny in “respect or ridicule”? Funny how only some are called out for breaking a rule of some kind here. Sometimes the word troll is simply an accurate description regarding the behavior of an individual. In the same way, someone might be offended if the word criminal was used to describe a lawbreaker. If the shoe fits.

Excellent! GT can now rewrite O. Henry’s short story “The Ransom of Red Chief”.

And another thing about yesterday’s criticism of my comments: if Trump is insulted by Drumpf, then Jon Stewart should be insulted by Trump revealing that his original last name was Leibowitz. Jon Stewart has said he had a complicated relationship with his father, but he is certainly not insulted if someone calls him Jon Leibowitz.

Words matter, but we have to realize that if someone acts like the definition of something, i.e., a troll, then indeed the person is a troll. Perhaps, I should have taken Clinton’s tactic with those who interrupt her rallies. She just refers to them as rude or annoying, a description of the behavior. Unlike Drumpf, which is in fact his original name, she doesn’t encourage them in any way, trying to take attention away from them, rather than calling attention to them. In fact, all of the other candidates use this tactic. Also, sometimes people manage to react in a different way from what is expected from those who attempt to insult or ridicule them, as in Obamacare. President Obama could have taken offense to this term. After all, we didn’t call Social Security FDR care, we didn’t call Medicare LBJ care, but many chose to call the Affordable Health Care Act Obamacare as a pejorative. He was smart enough to allow it, as it has been very positive for many people to have “Obamacare” even if it is not perfect.
