We had a “collector” of GM products in our neighborhood. One of them ran, the rest prevented a lawnmower from knowing his front lawn. This brave antiquarian fought the city for over four years while our home values deteriorated

Good luck with city hall. I took them on a couple times and they just do whatever they want, regardless of what the whole neighborhood wants. They are just amateur criminals in training for the higher jobs of house and senate.

He should annex City Hall to Elderpark, on the principle that eminent domain is a two-way street.

Since we have no HOA, my husband’s Morris Minor mailbox was done to prove a point.

The Morris is long gone, but the guy down the block still has his hideous potbelly stove mailbox.

It took years and the coyotes moving in, packing 25-30 guys in 3 bedroom houses before the county passed an ordinance against parking on the lawn.

If you seriously want to know how to talk to a City Council, here’s a start. I’ve been attending meetings and speaking for the last several years, and have observed what works and what does not:

“Practical Politics #1: How Not to Appeal to a Council”

The gentleman had a good case, but conducted his appeal badly, and lost. Unknowingly causing offense is as bad as offending on purpose. An appeal to the Grants Pass City Council, 7-21-2010.

“Practical Politics #2: A Call for Reconsideration, Well Done”

The young man who wants to own his own taxi company asks the City Council to reconsider their denial of his licenses. This time he does everything right, and it works.
