Congress is hardly the Establishment. The Establishment is composed of the nameless and faceless bureaucrats who are appointed and immune to public opinion or review. They run all the agencies, bureaus, commissions and committees that regulate, tax and fine without benefit of the law-making process and the consent of the electorate.

Rita does have an excellent point (for a change); if Congress decides to dig in its collective heels, then nothing a new president wants to do is going to get done. And the career establishment politicians of both parties could decide to do just that. I have long favored Congressional term limits for this reason (among many others), though I realize that we would have to amend the Constitution in order to do it, which would make accomplishing that goal rather more difficult.

All of the House seats and 34 seats in the Senate are up for election, too. If we want change, that should be our focus.

While there is a grain of truth to what Rita says, every one of those cockroaches wants to get reelected. They might think they can outlast him, but one by one, they will cave in. And, the public is going to HELP with that.

I never vote for the incumbent. The problem is people vote the party line. because the other side is evil.

I would press the point, but since you have no defense for these administrative acts, that would probably be classified as bullying.

If we want change let start by kicking out the old guard. They act like our ruling class. I want someone I can relate to.

“Lois G. Lerner, who oversees tax-exempt groups for the IRS, told reporters Friday that the “absolutely inappropriate” actions were undertaken by “front-line people” working in Cincinnati to target groups with “tea party,” “patriot” or “9/12” in their names.”
