Yes. For real. Even if Petey comes out of this traumatized at least Alice has a new friend!

Maybe Petey will be relieved that Alice takes the biggest part of his playdate?

Andre is great! Says just what Alice wants to hear!

Of course, if Loris comes over, she might be just the medicine for Petey - he wouldn’t have to do anything.

But then there’s Viola, and she is where Petey’s heart (inexplicably) lies.

As the mother of 3 boys, I see this happen a lot: a guest arrives for a playdate with child “A”, but it quickly turns into a playdate with child “B.” Child “A” is perfectly content to be relieved of entertaining his guest, and the guest is happy to be constantly entertained by child “B”. It’s a good setup.

Have you looked at the real world lately?

Today’s strip is worth a whole stack of “Peanuts” collections.

I see Petey retreated to his room to lose himself in another rousing adventure of “Little Neuro” while Alice and Andre discuss their individual insanity

I love Alice’s eyes in panels 2 & 3. Hilarious.

Alice carries the conversation, which leaves Petey plenty of time to fit his awkward pauses in.

If Andre were wearing a cap, his treatment of Alice would certainly merit a feather in it.

Petey has just about disappeared today which suits him just fine. The original “low profile kid”

This does look like it will work out well for all concerned.

I hope it doesn’t work out TOO well. Conflict drives narrative.
