You know, I’m having to fight the MVA just to get permission to get a LEANER’S PERMIT. They just asked for the same form I sent them in December. It’s really frustrating.
But it’s what I think of whenever “progressives” (ie. liberals) talk about putting the government in charge of healthe insurance and/or health care (they ARE two different things, no matter how much liberals conflate them). They love to praise Canada as a model system of government-run health care. Never mind the fact that in the US it takes the average person about 6 days to see a doctor, while in Canada it takes about 6 WEEKS.
I have noticed in my trips to the DMV, that the biggest problems are caused by the customers being rude. The employees just seem to be non-responsive because they are hardened to it.
The DMV earned their reputation. I had a court order to sell my dad’s car, because I was executor of his estate. In an hour and a half and all the way from clerk to the top brass, I did not get it done. This was in Albuquerque. They demanded the original from the court, which you do not get.
I went to the DMV in my hometown, where the clerk was a friend of mine, and had it transferred in five minutes. This was in Roswell.
TheLordOfUpThat lie only resembled the truth in the short time a province instituted the Douglas plan. It was temporarily swamped by those who previously died because they couldn’t afford health and then suddenly could. Since the federal government made the plan mandatory in 1970, you are a bit behind the times. There were a few times we were able to see our doctor with only an hour advanced warning by phone (and it did not come under the “emergency” definition). Preventive care helps keep the costs down.
When I went to DMV to get tags for my new car, the clerk was waiting with the plates on the counter by the time I had filled out the paperwork. Maryland does these things quite well, thank you.

Not too bad a place if you get there at just the right time and with a good attitude.
