Lacey: It's suck a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Eastwood! May I present my assistant, Joanie Caucus? Joanie: Hi. I just want to tell you you're my biggest fan! I mean it! Are those eyes for real? Of course they are. Shut up, Joan. You know, I've never really been attracted to... well... major macho, but, God, I could really make a fool out of myself over you! Lacey: Why, I think you already have, dear. Joanie: This is crazy. I have two kids. Clint Eastwood: Nice to meet you, ma'am.

The “ma’am” should cool her down.

It never fails to amaze me how some normally intelligent folks turn into starry-eyed and silly-talking idol worshipers around anyone from Hollywood…

Oops, I meant that I’m your biggest fan, not you’re my biggest fan, although that would be nice too.

There were two opposing male images back in the 70s, the sensitive, caring Alan Alda, and the ultra-macho Clint Eastwood. Polls of young women showed that the majority would much rather have a date with Eastwood than with Alda. Sensitivity is nice to talk about, but apparently not very arousing.

Very realistic: “I want to tell you, YOU’RE MY biggest fan!”. People get tongue tied like that for real. I worked at a restaurant and saw stars who played at a local musical theater, for the most part they were no different than the average customer. It was nice to see them in person.

Is he the clown that spoke with an empty chair on TV?

Prime Clint Eastwood was very impressive. Very tall, very handsome, gorgeous eyes. I can’t imagine a lot of women would find him unattractive back then.

It was always interesting to watch tourist make fools of themselves with celebrities but not pleasant when they became obnoxious pests.
I lived for many, many years in Sedona,Ariz. which had its share of resident celebrities and those working on a film or just enjoying the beauty. The locals pretty much ignored them or simply treated them like everyone else – no ogling or ’star treatment". We respected and protected their privacy and were good neighbors, which is why many of the Hollywood set loved it there.
Over the years I got to know and become friends with several actors and actresses and their families. They were gracious, witty, and genuinely real – not the Hollywood image.

Old Clint made a fool of himself on national TV, talking to an empty chair.
