Michael’s not trying to insult his mother by calling her fat, he simply made an observation. Such as when my kids look at old photos of me and notice I had more hair then.

Personally, I do not find his comment to be rude. I look at pictures of myself from three years ago, before two children, and can say the exact same thing. All he is saying is that it must have a while because she is thin. Not rude. A bit blunt perhaps but true.

I am not sure if I am alone in this, but I feel my girls (13 and 16) are far more sensitive and PC than I was at that age, or am now. The don’t comment on people’s looks, skin color, physical features, whatever. I never know the ethnicity of their friends unless I expressly ask.

And when I (just to needle them) make some un-PC comment, they immediately tell me to stop.

I am proud of them, but maybe instead of taking the credit, I should give it the whole current generation…?

Elly ought to teach him while he’s still a kid. You never ask a woman her age or her weight, and you never make comments in regard to either. It’s called tact and you really need to learn that as a kid so you avoid hurting people’s feelings.

PC means Politically Correct and it is the worst nonsense ever foisted on us by the Libs. Kids are now being punished for “micro-agressions” because they disagree with the person they are talking to. Cripes, where will it end?

Also, discard or store separately certain photos.I was going through some photos with my grand-daughter, and a photo of a past girl-friend came up:“Wow! why didn’t you marry her?”“If I had, you wouldn’t be here!”“Whoa!”
