This is so much BS. Most rich do not gloat over being rich and look down on poor people. Most have charities to help the poor. If the income range in this country was $40,000 to $41,000, the people making $40,000 would STILL BE POOR. The real dream of people is to become rich or at least richer. Without that there is no incentive. Do not put down the wealthy.
Hair blows in the wind. It flips, flops, forward, backwards. Take a clue from Sir Sideswipe, he will be like hair. Not HIS hair, which doesn’t move at all. As Betty Davis once said in a movie, " Fasten your seatbelts, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride."
I am retired and my income pays the bills and I have some left over. Me and the wife have enough to do most of what we want to, but that isn’t what makes me “rich”. We are both healthy and we have 6 wonderful grandkids. So I guess you could say that I am rich in the things that really matter.
Everyone in the US is rich, compared to most of the rest of the people in the world. We just don’t realize it because we don’t see all the people who are poorer than the homeless in the US.
Most rich people that I’ve worked for are paranoid that the poor are trying to take their money—even to the point of not paying fair wages for work done for them and always trying to get over—and that’s why they were rich.
There are different socioeconomic groups in all places, even in the “classless society” of North Korea. The vast majority of North Koreans are living little better than their great-grandparents. They live in squalor and lack basic neccesities such as food and medicine (even though the North Korean constitution guarantees food stamps, clothing coupons, public education, single-payer healthcare and social security as rights to all). A small minority of North Koreans have just about everything, being a special class allowed to live as luxuriously as the wealthiest people in the free world. In a repressive society such as that, it is not ability or mercantile expertise that determines who is rich, but political cronyism.

You can make everyone equally poor, but you can never make everyone equally rich. If we were all rich, who would push the burger through the window?

One of my favorite expression, in looking back on my ‘struggling artiste’ days is: " All us us were rich, but none of us had any money."

If I were rich I’d enjoy it a lot more if everyone else were rich too. Who wants to hang out with a bunch of snobs?

Anyone have Lynn’s notes for today? It would be interesting to see her insight on this, considering the comic strip made her famous and rich.
