I think “in between” is good advice, too. When you have an “extreme” at one end, and “as-low-as-you-can-go” on the other, in between is the way to go to get through it. You won’t win any medals, but you usually will finish alive.
Hey I can relate, I want to go out and socialize sometimes…an hour later I’m back home regretting it. Then a week or two later I’m back to wanting to socialize again, thus I go out…an hour later I’m back home, thus the cycle.
Sometimes I’m the life of the party, sometimes I’d rather be a hermit. When your friends expect you to entertain them all the time it can get tiring. Ordinarily I don’t mind it (I do have a case of the dreaded “look at ME” sydrome), but sometimes I need to recharge, and that’s best done alone.
@Snoopy_FanHello. I hope you have a fantastic weekend! Thanks for LOL-ing at my comment yesterday. I like to think I’m pretty funny. I couldn’t care less how much I weigh now. I go for my “Human MOT” every few months or so and I’m always in great health. My blood pressure is always within the normal range. I’m not saying I’ll always be healthy because after all we do get older and our bodies get weaker and start to deteriorate.Anyway, I’m sure you didn’t wish to know that so I’ll end this comment by wishing you a fantastic weekend again.xxx

Try a stuffed toy. You will be alone but not alone… somehow.

How does one live in between being lonely and not being lonely? Also, it somehow reminds me of U2 song “With or Without You.”

That’s the best advice you can get CB, even from a professional shrink. So yeah, try to live in the very short duration of not feeling anything!!

Story of my life. You need some outside interests that don’t take over your existence, CB. External validation is seldom forthcoming.

If I were him, considering his, er, “associates,” I’d go with being alone.

Sometimes I welcome being alone. I can’t have contact with humans for more than an hour.
Haha. Just kidding (again)

One day, after Dad enjoyed a couple of drinks, confided to me: “Be involved in no more than five pursuits, that way you’ll have time for yourself..”
