Good morning, everyone. Off to buy a birthday gift for mother-in-law.

Why do I suddenly feel itchy?? Beviek – I love the world-traveler cat. Neat video. Dennis – light saber cat is amazing. Last Rose and bbear – I enjoyed your pictures today Funny stuff!

I watched the light saber vids. Guess I’m the odd man out because I don’t like seeing cats fight or being attacked by dogs.

Thanks for the suggestions, HappyX3 and Gweedo. I now have an idea in my head of something to try – I’m going to build a mesh “cage” on the ground underneath that the seeds can drop into, and build it high enough so it’s got little “doorways” that are large enough for some of the birds to still get under the mesh to get the seeds from the ground (some of the birds we get are ground feeders, like the dark-eyed juncos) but are too small for the pigeons. I just have to keep it open enough so the birds don’t get confused & trapped under the mesh. Hopefully that will satisfy the city guy, at least. Honestly, it won’t stop the pigeons, they figure out ways to get what they want, but maybe it’ll be enough that he leaves us alone. And I think I do need to consider barricading our yard from prying neighbors’ eyes, sigh. Why they don’t like any wildlife is beyond me. They’ve complained about any animal they see in the neighborhood – cats, squirrels, sparrows, pigeons, any little birds, raccoons, etc. Yes, some of them are pesty, but they have just as much right to wander around as we do – we took over their habitat (and as for the cats, well, some ppl still think letting their cats wander freely is ok, as well as not getting them “fixed” to try to help resolve the issues. I’ve tried catching some (like my boys’ mama) to get them fixed, & tried contacting the local TNR group, but I’m only one person, and I’m not the one complaining about it, but I AM trying to fix it, grumble. My boys’ mama had apparently been well-known for having litter after litter of kittens in the neighborhood for years prior to us moving in, & no one bothered to do anything about it.) Ok, end of rant. For now.
