Wonder what it was. I mean Charlie Brown never got past the copyright page before Schroeder fell asleep so we don’t know what he wanted him to read.

I vote for second edition of “My Father’s Dragon”. I loved all three in the series when I was a kid and would still get a kick out of seeing those books again.

It was “Farmer in the Sky,” by Robert Heinlein. It was originally serialized in “Boys Life” in 1950, then published as a book in 1951. “Starman Jones” would not come out for two more years.

I’m reading a textbook on European History; it’s a broad overview and very readable, and was printed in 1903 (I’m reading the Kndle version). I just got done with the Congress of Vienna and then the 1848 revolutions, and it is fascinating how the author is describing how the “current” nations and their territories formed, with no knowledge of the disaster looming a decade in the future.

Sometimes, it was just that easy.

It had postal information so it was probably a periodical like a magazine or comic book.
