I remember going to a campground with my parents in about 1968. They had a horseshoe pitch. I was a small child and asked my father what the metal pins in the ground were for, and he explained. No one was playing horseshoes. I returned to the same campground in 1976 and the pins were gone; the field had been re-purposed. Do people still play, in these horseless days?
I was staying in some old tourist cabins up in Michigan and noticed some horseshoes hanging on a nail on a tree and decided I’d give it a try after not having done it for decades.
The tree turned out to be a pine, which had been bleeding pitch from the nail. I almost couldn’t put them down. My hands were sticky for hours after, despite use of soap and even solvent.
Later, when Linus was always being crazily optimistic about seeing the Great Pumpkin, it was a character trait. Here it’s just a punchline (and not especially in character for Patty).
How about a nickel to the first to get within thirty feet. Though those stakes look to be eight to ten feet apart so maybe the first to get within six feet.

either the throws are too light or the horseshoes are too heavy

He wasn’t good at pitching anyway, what made him think he could do this? Horseshoes are heavier.

Wow! I was actually able to read that one? Did they ever get that glitch fixed or is this an on and off thing?

This is a perfect representation of me playing Pokémon Go. And the little beggars won’t stop jumping around…

I reported the Sunday probs to GoComics last week. They said they’re working on it. Maybe they are.
