I really miss this prankster Charlie Brown. I’m starting to think that it was because he overdid it that people started to pick on him when he was older.
Also, I may be in the minority but I kind of prefer the CB we all know and love to this version. Mainly because I don’t see much about this CB that separates him from say Calvin of Calvin and Hobbes, Dennis the menace, or even Bart Simpson. At least by today’s standards. Any one can write the trouble making prankster ( heck, one of the greatest American writers, Huck Finn, pretty much perfected that trope with Tom Sawyer). Only Shultz could have mixed his comedy with pathos and given us a true tortured every man.

How long did “practical jokester” Charlie Brown last? It seems so far removed from how he ended up.

This is the comic strip that confirmed me that The Coasters wrote the song about this Charlie Brown, and not the one all we know.

Ahh, this is the Earth-One Charlie Brown.the looser we all know is Charlie Brown of Earth-Two.
you can tell they are different because Earth-Two Charlie Brown wears the classic yellow striped shirt, while Earth-One wears red.
