He’s almost a year old, and he hasn’t figured out how to stand up yet? Then again, I didn’t start walking until I was nearly two!

My mom thought I’d never learn to walk. She finally waxed the kitchen floor extra-good, and leaned me up against a chair. It would slide a little, I’d go after it. Turned out I was (and am) extremely nearsighted. In those days it was unusual to see a preschooler with glasses. I had them, and yes I was constantly teased at school.

Years later, he’ll make card houses like nobody’s business.

Speaking of Linus (well, we were 2 days ago) it looks like he has learned to sit up.

In later years he’s in the same Classroom with Charlie Brown. Did Charlie Brown get left back a few times?

Baby Linus always had a lot more personality than his brother “Rerun”, who came along much, much later. Rerun was a one-note character – mostly seen riding in a carrier on a bike pedaled by his unseen mother. By the end of the strip, Rerun was another forgotten character, along with Frieda and her cat, Shermy, Pig-Pen, Patty, Violet, and Shermy.

Like all people, Linus, once he has figured something out, is sure no one has ever done it before.

If you look at both of the pictures of Linus, the position of the viewer changes from one picture to the other. This would bring into view two of the other sides of the blocks. Schulz always knew what he was doing.
