Knowing how to get lost will come in handy when trying to avoid the law when you grow up.

Calvin’s very much a loner and a dreamer. It begs the question of why he got involved with a group activity like Scouting at all.

I loved scouting. With or without other boys and the uniform. Still love to be outside.

All right! So Calvin likes a little drama with his hiking. He does that with everything. Not always successful, but he is dedicated.

Scouting actually sounds like a very good thing for Calvin- he gets into enough trouble that it would helpful if he knew how to mitigate some of the damage. On the other hand, it could teach him new ways to create chaos.

If panel 3 represents the character of Calvin’s troop, I’m not surprised he didn’t stay with it. Kind of like his experience when he signed up for baseball.

I have gone in many field trips but only camped once. I didn’t get lost while camping, but I got lost many times on field trips. I always find my way out on my own, but it’s good to be lost once in a while to enjoy nature without any loud companions.
