Quiet, you whiners. Washington saw a degree of viciousness in American affairs rarely equaled to this day. Sad that you all are so concerned for your country but know almost nothing of its history.
First thing I noticed here, before even reading the strip, was that the flag is displayed properly with the blue field on its’ own right. I cringe when I see it wrong and was overjoyed to see it shown here correctly displayed. No comment on the strip.
We’ve done it to ourselves; we have enshrined corporations as “people” who can “vote” with their free speech – read money, while working hard thru negative campaigning, gerrymandering and the new voter ID laws to suppress the vote. Carmen may have tears, but she and others helped destroy the process.
The problem is not that speech is allowed; it is that a large segment of society intends to regulate it, to require conformity. George Washington cries because we have millions of bureaucrats micromanaging our lives; he wonders how we could be so stupid as to surrender our freedom to Tsars.
Poor George. He knows his days on the dollar bill are numbered. If Clinton is elected, he’ll be replaced by Amelia Earhardt. If Trump wins, he’ll be replaced by Ronald McDonald.

I’m not surprised if Washington is crying. He’s crying because he can’t believe what has happened to the country has become.
