But is this more effective that simply placing Annie’s balloon above Tad’s? There seems to be room for it.
This is one of the reasons comics are cool — their unique language that has developed over decades.

Every once in a while a comic gets to me. Annie’s simple comment in the last frame brought a tear to my eye.
