While remembering what a fun show The Monkees was, don’t forget that, while Dolenz, Jones & Tork were actors, Mike Nesmith was, both before & after, a fine singer-songwriter (I particularly recommend his album “Pretty Much Your Standard Ranch Stash”).
Davy was also a recognised singer in Britain before the Monkees, doing such tunes as "My Old Man’s a Dustman" and “Maybe Its Because I’m a Londoner (That I Love Londontown”.
Yes, and Davey Jones ended up living about a half hour away from me here in Central PA. Really. NICE place he had. And he gave back to the community. He was just a regular guy living here in this small PA town.
