But you’ll understand it soon Sally. Just wait and see.

What I don’t understand is why Charlie Brown is wearing the hat he wears at summer camp. He’s just on a summer vacation with his family (sans the dog).

If it’s a family vacation, why is he wearing his summer-camp sailor hat?

Don’t feel bad Sally. I don’t understand vacations either. As a kid, we spent summers working in the vegetable garden or the kitchen, canning produce for winter.

I like Chuck’s Camp Cap. Very seasonal.

You know what, now that I think about it, you always do write “____ says hello” in a postcard, letter, or other form of communication!

My ex didn’t understand why people took vacations, thought we could save a lot of money by not going on them. Result was that I kept getting depressed and would lose my job, longest job I ever had was 18 months. Finally after getting divorced and making a goal to go on at least two per year, that no longer happens and I’ve been at the same company for more than a decade now.

People tell me all the time, that I must make a lot of money to go on so many vacations and that it must be nice to have such a luxurious life. I have to tell them, that I would be unemployed if I didn’t, so its a necessary part of having a job and income.

That and one of them is just camping for a week, fairly cheap vacation. Then I realized other people go crazy on vacations, they spend 5 grand just going to Disneyland (my most expensive Disneyland trip has been just one grand.) so yeah I take two a year but both are fairly cheap way to get away from work and rejuvenate.

My DH is against vacations. You have to spend money.

Some of us would love to go on vacation, but when you live paycheck to paycheck (or these days pension check to pension check) the only possible “vacation” is a good book.

The only place I’ve been abroad to is Paris. All my other trips have been in England. But I’ve always been taken on them. I’ve never been on one myself.

One of the jobs I had before I retired had a “use it or lose it” policy regarding vacation time. If you didn’t use at least two weeks worth of vacation time each year, you would lose it. I never traveled when I took vacation time. I found plenty of fun activities to do in my home town.
