    It was your mama, Earl, who made your sandwiches that way , and she’s not currently available.

    Can’t Earl make his own sandwich once in a while?

    Since when did Opal apologize there, Earl?

    I don’t want cheese on any side of the meet or sandwich.

    Wow! This brings back memories. I once saw my grandfather pitch a very loud and extended hissy fit because the bread on the sandwich my grandmother fixed for him had the pieces of bread facing in different directions.

    There’s nothing worse than a ham and cheese sandwich with mayo and mustard with the mustard on the cheese side!!!!!

    Doesn’t everyone put cheese on both sides of the meat,t in a sandwich ? How ’bout just putting the cheese in the middle, between the meat ?

    I like to alternate the parts that go into a sandwich.Meat-cheese-tomato-onion-etc. Like a Dagwood sandwich sometimes with bread in the middle.

    There are things I have asked my beloved in the way of food which she doesn’t refuse, she simply ignores.There’s a little bit of Opal in everybody, it seems.

    There’s a first time for everything, Opal.

    I’ve always enjoyed plain old ham sandwiches. Yum!

    @Number Three

    At risk of offending all my friends across the pond, a thin slice of anemic ham slapped between two pieces of white bread doth not a sandwich make !

    Granted, I lived and worked, in England and Ireland, before you were born, so things may have changed… but more recent visits and samplings of pub fare have reinforced this observation.

    The Yanks may do a lot of things wrong, but they do know how to build a really decent sandwich.

    With mustard is the only way to eat a cheese sandwich. Any sandwich or any thing with mayo and or ketchup is ruined.

    I would’ve been making my own sandwiches with that remark, whether it was made to my Mom or Wife!

    Ugh. I hate it when you’re not apologizing and someone says “I accept your apology.” One time when I was a teenager, a person in authority did that, I was a good girl and didn’t smart mouth back, but I really wanted to. Still do, kinda.
